This talk is a deep exploration of cutting edge research around questioning the importance of physical literacy, early specialization in sports and arts as well as risky play to a child's development and overall health. If your child does any physical activity or you have questions about setting them up for long term health this talk is for you. 

Tia's career started with her belief in the ability of sport and recreation to be a vehicle for development. Whether it was to strengthen community, international relations, or individuals, she recognized the power sport and recreation could have in the world. Her journey over the past 15+ years has led her to be an experienced program development specialist with a focus on quality assurance, risk management, human resource management and healthy human development. She has worked with hundreds of sport and recreation organizations across Canada and beyond within the not for profit, for profit and municipal world. Tia is also an owner of a sport organization which allows her to better understand her clients and bring a breadth of experience to the table.
