An outpouring of Love and Support...

There has been such an incredible outpouring of love and support for the Nashman family after the passing of our JFI Patriarch Mr. Harold Nashman of blessed memory. (see the post below)
The support for our program from all of thier friends, family and the community at large has been wonderful and overwhelming and certainly a testament to how much Harold was/is loved and remembered. Thank you to everyone on behalf of the myself, the JFI and the Nashman family.

In the background of this we have been diligently working on some new projects and enjoying the wonders of our programs that are up and running.

Oh Sunday Scene, how we love you! The kiddies are delicious and we have been having such a great time all together. The dads have organized a Starbucks coffee rotation, so we have fresh coffee every Sunday courtesy of the guys, and the muffins are going to be fresh baked as of next week!
This is a giant space people, and a fantastic way to meet families from the neighbourhood and all spectrums of our amazing community.

Our Meditation class with Hillel Krauss has started up again, and is becoming a wonderful and close group of students who are developing a deep and practical practice. This is a class anyone can join anytime so if you would like to develop some tools for dealing with the stress of everyday life, deepen your practice, or infuse your prayer with meaning this is the class for you.

Israel 101 with Richard Bass is incredible. This Wednesday night class is hard-hitting, fast-paced and challenges you to really think through the issues and history of our homeland. The last class gave us the outlining tools to break down and evaluate claims in the media and any resource to see if they are true or simply subjective. Totally fascinating and essential learning for anyone interested in Israel and our Jewish world. Jump in and see if you really know the facts!

The Bat Mitzvah program is now coming to a close with our 24 participants heading into the last class next week. They have had an incredible journey and I will post some photos soon of some other their most hilarious and most beautiful moments. We will be having a Spring Session now in April, so check the Programs Page for more info.

I also just posted a brief outline of the larger Stories Project that I am beginning to work on in secret...it's awesome...

Baruch Dayen Emeth Mr. Harold Nashman. The loss of a dear friend and mentor...

We are deeply saddened to announce the recent passing of Mr. Harold Nashman, Tzvi Benyamin ben Avraham A"H. We extend our sincere condolences to then entire Nashman family.

Harold, together with his wife Yetta, founded the very first Jewish Family Institute (JFI) at The Village Shul. There are now several JFI's dotting the Aish HaTorah map and our programs have been copied by many, many more.

A very good friend and mentor to Aish HaTorah, Harold was an early supporter to the efforts here in Toronto. His warmth and benevolence touched many in our city and he will be deeply missed.

The funeral will take place on Wed. Jan 4th at 1pm at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel.
For information about the Shiva home and hours please contact the Village Shul at 416-785-1107.

The family has requested that donations in Harold's name be given towards the ongoing efforts of the JFI. Please contact Esther at 416-785-1107 ex. 200 or click here to send us your information and we will get back to you in a timely fashion.

May the entire Nashman family be comforted amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
